Basil Leaves

STIR-FRY BEAN SPROUTS AND BEAN SPROUTS SPRING ROLL

Bean sprout spring roll or Lumpiang Togue with spicy vinegar dip is one of my favorite afternoon snack. Try this recipe so delicious especially if you add sweet potato or kamoteng baging. 
  

Ingredients:
Beansprout or Togue
Cabbage
Carrots
Ground Pork
Sweet Potato
Drop of Sesame Oil
Low Sodium Soy Sauce
Pinch of sugar

Tofu or Tokwa for Toppings

APPLE CINNAMON TOPPINGS

Cinnamon topping is super easy to cook and once you try this delicious apple topping it will be your new favorite toppings for your pancake or vanilla ice cream.

CREAM DORY FISH FILLET IN GARLIC DIP

This cream dory fish fillet was marinated in fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, salt and pepper for about 2hrs. Remove fish and patted dry, dip into beaten egg, coat in cornstarch with a pinch of dry basil leaves then roll in bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown and set aside.   You can also use fish fillet called labahita good alternative for this recipe. For the dip heat butter and minced garlic then add the mixture of cornstarch, milk, Maggie magic sarap and pepper to taste. You can use the dip in other fried recipes like chicken, pork and shrimps.

PICHI-PICHI


Pichi- Pichi is a gelatinous dessert made of cassava, it is a very simple and easy to prepare and even kids can prepare and cook this recipe because it has few ingredients,  (grated cassava, sugar, water and lye water). 



Ingredients:
Grated Cassava (Kamoteng kahoy or cassava)
Sugar
Lye Water
Water
Grated Coconut (Kinayod na Niyog)

BULANGLANG

The ingredients of bulanglang and pinakbet are almost the same, but the cooking method is different. Pinakbet is almost dry and ingredients are stirred fried and flavored with bagoong while bulanglang boiled with rice wash or hugas bigas and soupier. Just put rice water in a casserole, add tomato and garlic and bring to boil for about 5 minutes then add squash first, simmer for at least 2 minutes then add the remaining ingredients simmer until okra is cooked before adding the squash tops and flower. Seasoned with salt. Serve while hot. This is also the favorite vegetable dish of my parents in Batangas. I like to eat this bulanglang with sinaing na tulingan.

Malunggay leaves
Kamatis or tomato
Sitaw or beans string
Patola 
Talbos ng kalasa squash tops
Bulaklak ng kalabasa squash flower
Hipon or shrimp
Okra
Hugas bigas or rice wash
Asin or salt
Bawang or garlic
Talong or eggplant

You ca also add unripe papaya..

CREAMY SHRIMP FETTUCCINE

This has always been my children’s favorite recipe that’s why I started cooking healthier pasta in different ways. In my version of Creamy shrimp fettuccine I add bacon and button mushroom to make it yummier, I used cream of mushroom to thicken the sauce and evaporated milk to make it creamy. Very easy to prepare and cook, you can also use penne and linguine in this recipe.




Ingredients:
Fettuccine pasta
Shrimp
Bacon
Evaporated Milk
Cream of Mushroom
Button Mushroom
All Purpose cream
Onion
Fine ground Black pepper
Salt
Butter
Garlic
Fresh Parsley


BOILED PORK RIBS (NILAGANG PORK RIBS)

You can use any combination of leafy vegetables in this recipe. In my version of nilagang spare ribs i add corn, carrots and other leafy vegetables.

LEMONY CHICKEN IN LEMON SAUCE

My eldest son and my youngest daughter like this dish sauteed with butter, fresh lemon juice and freshly ground black pepper. They like the lemony taste of chicken.
Ingredients:
Boneless Chicken Breast
Freshly crack Black Pepper
Fresh lemon Juice and Lemon zest
