BULANGLANG

The ingredients of bulanglang and pinakbet are almost the same, but the cooking method is different. Pinakbet is almost dry and ingredients are stirred fried and flavored with bagoong while bulanglang boiled with rice wash or hugas bigas and soupier. Just put rice water in a casserole, add tomato and garlic and bring to boil for about 5 minutes then add squash first, simmer for at least 2 minutes then add the remaining ingredients simmer until okra is cooked before adding the squash tops and flower. Seasoned with salt. Serve while hot. This is also the favorite vegetable dish of my parents in Batangas. I like to eat this bulanglang with sinaing na tulingan.


Ingredients:
Kalabasa or squash
Malunggay leaves
Kamatis or tomato
Sitaw or beans string
Patola 
Talbos ng kalasa squash tops
Bulaklak ng kalabasa squash flower
Hipon or shrimp
Okra
Hugas bigas or rice wash
Asin or salt
Bawang or garlic
Talong or eggplant

You ca also add unripe papaya..
